CyberLynx Homeschool and Correspondence Program in Fairbanks is seeking a skilled, passionate, and enthusiastic teacher dedicated to working with students and families and interested in a non-traditional education opportunity.
CyberLynx is committed to maintaining a dynamic staff of caring and talented educators dedicated to student success and family satisfaction. CyberLynx serves families who choose to homeschool their children in grades K-12 and high school students who need an alternative and flexible path to graduation.
This position requires partnering with parents to design their students’ individual education/learning plan, maintaining physical and electronic student files, communicating regularly with families regarding students’ academic progress, receiving and reviewing students’ quarterly work samples, issuing grades, tutoring students as needed, and connecting students to resources in the community.
The ideal candidate personally connects to our mission, excels at communication, develops and maintains positive relationships with other staff, parents, and students across diverse populations, works well in challenging situations, and proactively identifies opportunities to support students, all while remaining grounded in the day-to-day implementation of tasks and responsibilities. The candidate is also organized and efficient, paying attention to detail, and is flexible and adaptable, maintaining a primary focus on serving students, parents, and colleagues.
CyberLynx is a statewide correspondence program under the Nenana City School District (NCSD), with offices in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Nenana, and Wasilla. NCSD offers a competitive salary package comparable to other Alaska School Districts, offering a traditional teacher contract. CyberLynx office hours are 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. CyberLynx is a year-round program.
